Thank Me Later Cards
Introducing
#Thank Me Later Cards
10 #ThankMeLater cards
1 Vinyl card holder
1 Simple Instruction card
#ThankMeLater cards provide indirect responses to microaggressions when a conversation is not possible. They come with the hope that the recipient will someday appreciate the information the card bearer provides and say thank you.
Possible uses:
Leave on the desk of an employee
Leave on the table alongside a tip for a server
Hand to a person on the bus as you exit
Here’s how they can be used:
Person A: [Touches the head of the other] I love you hair it is so soft and smooth
Person B: Goes into her folder of #ThankMeLater Cards to find the card that reads
Let’s normalize not touching other people’s hair, face, body without asking them first.
Hands the card to Person A and walks away
Person A: What is this?
[Reads the back of the card]
“Thank me later?”
[Turns it over to read the front]
Oh, I never thought about asking first…
Hey [calls to the person who gave the card who has disappeared from view]
Hmm …
I’ll have to remember to say thank you for bringing this to my attention… later.
The cards should be offered as a gift with only one expectation. That they will thank you later.
